Hello
My name is Bhagwan Deen. I am professor Horticulture and Head Department of Post Harvest Technology at A.N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, India. I have 28 years’ experience in research, extension, administration, development and teaching of Horticulture and allied subjects to Under Graduate, Master's and PhD degree programmes students. I am lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with Indian Council of Agricultural Research as ARS Scientist Horticulture. I got opportunity to render my services in the capacity of Principal, Government Food Science Training Centre under Horticulture and Food Processing Department of the Government and expertization in a World Bank Project on Diversification of Agriculture. As Programme Coordinator Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Associate Professor Horticulture, I provided services to agriculture extension, research and agriculture education, respectively. I have been General Secretary of the Alumni Association and Administrative Officer of the A.N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, India. I was a member of Joint Inspection Team constituted by Government of India to inspect the National Horticulture Mission programmes for three years in the State. My Story
Education
I completed primary education from Primary School of my native village and passed 5th class in first grade. Then I passed High School and Intermediate (10+2) with agriculture subject in first class from S.S. Intermediate College which is located 2 Km from my native village. I got opportunity to complete B. Sc. (Ag), M. Sc. (Ag) Horticulture and Ph.D. degrees in first class from Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, India. I was awarded prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) during master's degree programme. In addition I qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) essential to get teaching post in Indian Universities. I belong to Uttar Pradesh province of India.
Employment
I qualified Agricultural Research Services (ARS) Examination of ICAR and got opportunity to the ICAR in capacity of Scientist Horticulture. I left the ICAR and joined the post of Principal, Government Food Science Training Center in State Government meanwhile I have also got opportunity to work in a World Bank sponsored project entitled Uttar Pradesh Diversified Agriculture Support Project and provided my expertise services in the field of Post Harvest Management of Horticultural produce. The third post I was selected for, was Training Organizer (Head) K.V.K. (Agriculture Science Center). I worked there for extension of agricultural technologies among the farmers and agro-entrepreneurs. Then I got selection against Associate Professor Horticulture , Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, India. I joined the post and elevated to Professor Horticulture in due course of time.
